Evelyn Rubio, the "international sexy, sassy, sax lady" has been tapped to open the Women Songwriters Hall Of Fame in Washington DC on August 27th.
Evelyn shares, “This is truly a remarkable opportunity, to be a part of this ceremony. As a woman trying to earn her place in this vast world of music I have learned firsthand that endurance is key. The world loves us but we need the industry, genre by genre, to back women as well. As women we know the struggles and finally here is a professional organization toasting female accomplishment in songwriting. I am so happy to be a part of this event.” The annual event which honors women songwriters around the world will gather at the Jack Morton Auditorium, George Washington University Washington DC, on August 27th. Opening remarks will be presented by Dr. Janice McLean DeLoatch, Executive Director, CEO Women Songwriters Hall Of Fame.
