Emerging L.A. artist Welsh Wolf told us about his love for his Universal Audio Gear, Shure mics and Fender guitars.
Welsh Wolf: When I’m in the studio, I love using Universal Audio gear. The Apollo is perfect for travelling with a really easy set up for writing sessions. That and a Shure mic is all you need. My go to is the SM7.
In terms of live gear, my favorite two guitars are hands down the 1978 Fender Telecaster and a Gibson J185. I play the Tele through a Teletronix chorus pedal and into a Vox Amp. I like to keep it pretty simple when it comes to pedals as I want to be looking at the audience and not at the floor for half the gig. Connecting with the fans is a big priority for me and it’s hard to do that while staring at the ground.
