Rising Floridian rapper (and self-proclaimed Swamp Queen) Doechii has released new single and video "Alter Ego," featuring fellow Florida artist JT.
"If you've never been to the swamp, you should visit," Doechii says by way of an introduction to the video. "It's better than a resort, better than the city, and you can do whatever the fuck you want..."
Doechii, who we caught on tour with Doja Cat last year, as well as at Coachella 2023, then proves all of that to be true by standing up on a boat that's racing through the swamp, while shooting a gun into the air. She truly is the Swamp Queen.
"Inspired by Eurodance, the track prompted R&B superstar SZA to dub it 'the craziest song I've heard all year' on social media after an early listen," reads the press release. "'Alter Ego' arrives just over a month after Doechii and JT interviewed one another for Interview Magazine where they initially teased their collab. It also continues a lengthy winning streak for Doechii."
We get close-ups of 'gators, and partying by the water. It's certainly on brand. Meanwhile, JT looks like she's sharing the good time while offering some sultry tones.
