UMG, Dance Church Partner for Pride Class

Dance Church, the dance-focused movement class founded by director and choreographer Kate Wallich, will celebrate Pride this year in partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment. Dance Church and UMG will collaborate on a virtual class via Dance Church’s Online Platform, Dance Church Go, for a special Pride-themed class on June 27 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET.   Tickets are pay-what-you-can and all proceeds will support GLAAD. Sign-up for the class HERE.

The partnership is part of UMG’s 2021 Music Is Universal LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, which includes a capsule collection benefiting GLAAD, artist listening parties, curated playlists, a mental health content series in partnership with Mental Health Coalition and more. The virtual Dance Church class will feature music from UMG’s artists.

Dance Church’s partnership with Universal Music Group comes on the heels of last week’s news of hiring Chief Executive Officer Clara Siegel, and partnership with startup studio and venture capital firm Pioneer Square Labs (PSL). Additionally, this Summer, Dance Church has returned to the live format for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic in a pop-up partnership with Nordstrom. The tour has already come through Los Angeles and Chicago, and the next stops include Seattle on July 10 and New York City on August 7.

Known for carefully curated playlists and professional dance artists driving the experience, Dance Church’s community-driven format of entertainment exercise was created in 2010 and took off. In response to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown that left many in search of new ways to exercise, let out pent up energy, and experience the freedom often reserved for the dance floor, Dance Church launched a livestream alternative to their in-person classes. Since then, the Dance Church movement has grown, reached a massive audience and has brought joy to living room dancers all over the world.
