The West Coast Feast 2023 blew up at the Vermont concert hall in Los Angeles. Taking place on a much larger scale this time around, attendees traveled locally and some nationally to chill, relax and watch the spectacular show. Headline performances came from the Pharcyde, Talib Kweli, Evidence, Casey Veggies, Reverie and more. Due to the large amount of memorable moments throughout the day it’s hard to choose which ones stood out the most. The Pharcyde, who by the way had one of the best memorable sets with all its members on stage, minus producer J-Dilla (rest in peace) rocked the crowd. Evidence representing one third of Dilated Peoples, LA’s very own Casey Veggies holding it down for Inglewood and LA hip hop heads. New York rapper Talib Kweli dropping some hip hop knowledge for the audience. The vibes that night, helped me forget about the long hours and just focus on having a good time. Female MC rapper Reverie and Casey Veggies has become one of my top rap artists out there at the moment and seeing them live only boosted that even more. Both have such a stage presence that radiates off the whole arena.
Hitting the main stage was South Centrals very own The Pharcyde. They ran up with so much hype and enthusiasm you could hear the roar in crowds voice. Performing hits such as ‘Passin Me By’ and ‘Runnin’ they definitely left an everlasting impression that night. Evidence had such a carefree attitude and lives for performing that he woke up the crowd who were restless waiting for his stage presence. Evidence definitely gave the crowd what they were looking for with songs such as ‘Where we going from here’ and ‘Better You’ to leave the audience in a good mood. Reverie stage presence is so dynamic, many people pulled out their phones to record each of her songs. Songs such as ‘Westside’ representing for her city Highland Park and ‘Give it time’ a songs aimed to the women in the audience.
Brooklyn rapper Talib Kweli rapped his hit makers like ‘Hot thing’ and ‘Get em High’, a controversial rapper he also talked about the crises in hiphop today, as far as the music and where it’s going.
Most certainly I had a great time at The West Coast feast who was orchestrated by Sean Healy presents. If your looking to meet good people and in a great environment, Sean Healy presents are the concerts to go to. Looking forward to next years event.
