The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) has joined forces with several Grammy award winning producers across the US this month for two in person events.
Kris Ahrend, CEO of The MLC, and Lindsey Major, Head of Customer Experience at The MLC, have both sat down with producers at two respective events this month, in Miami and Atlanta, to discuss royalties, data, and how to grow as an artist at in person events/mixers this month, both of which allowed the public to attend and network with these industry veterans. Below are the producers that took part in the events:
-The Miami event featured Oak Felder, a producer and songwriter with hundreds of pop and R&B credits to his name. Oak has produced and written several top-charting hits; co-written and -produced Demi Lovato’s 5x platinum “Sorry Not Sorry;” and was nominated for a 2015 GRAMMY for his work with Usher. He was integral to Grammy winning projects for Lizzo, Rihanna, John Legend, Alessia Cara and the Soundtrack for the Lee Daniels Film, “The United States vs Billie Holiday."
The Atlanta event, taking place on Nov 14 (7-10pm) features the below in conversation with The MLC’s Lindsey Major:
-Henny Tha Bizness, is an Award winning, Multi-Platinum Record Producer, Songwriter, Professor, and Youtuber. Henny has produced numerous hits records for various recording artists including Drake, Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Lil Wayne, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Black Eyed Peas, Young Jeezy, Brandy, Ice Cube and many others.
-Isaac Hayes III is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fanbase. Fanbase is a subscription-based social media platform that helps any user monetize the content they create.He is a veteran songwriter-producer from Atlanta, Ga., As well as President and C.E.O of Isaac Hayes Enterprises, his late father Isaac Hayes’ estate. His broad catalog of writing, producing, and licensing music for TV and film, his extensive experience in social media marketing, and his passion for African American entrepreneurship led him to develop Fanbase.
-Kendrick Dean (also known as Wyldcard) is an American record producer, songwriter and entrepreneur. He has produced or written for 7 GRAMMY Nominated albums to date. Some of his hits include Chris Brown's "Say Goodbye" (Billboard #1), Mariah Carey's "I Stay In Love" and Trey Songz "Last Time". Kendrick began his music career in 2004 when he was first credited as a producer on mega group Destiny's Child final album Destiny Fulfilled.
