In recognition of Black History Month, The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) announces the continuation of its ‘Black History-in-the-Making’ Instagram Live series. This year’s series will feature influential Black founders of forward-thinking entities that aim to effect change in the music industry through service and innovation. The series celebrates the contributions of Black voices in the music industry and their impact during Black History Month, which is recognized during the month of February.
Hosted by Dae Bogan, The MLC’s Head of Third-Party Partnerships, the series will feature conversations with three influential figures in the music industry: artist development expert Mike Robinson, the creator of the Music Business Toolbox Bryan Calhoun, and multi-Grammy Award-winning producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur Jerry 'Wonda' Duplessis.
The series will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, on The MLC's official Instagram account (@mlc_us). The schedule is as follows:
- Mike Robinson – 1 p.m. ET, 12 p.m. CT, 10 a.m. PT
- Bryan Calhoun – 2 p.m. ET, 1 p.m. CT, 11 a.m. PT
- Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis – 3 p.m. ET, 2 p.m. CT, 12 p.m. PT
“We’re thrilled to continue this important initiative,” says Dae Bogan. “This series gives us the opportunity to highlight the invaluable contributions of Black leaders in music while providing an accessible platform to share their stories.”
The ‘Black History-in-the-Making’ series was created by The MLC to honor the legacies of Black artists, innovators, and trailblazers who continue to shape the music industry. No registration is required to participate.
