The Live Beat: Black Queer AF Week

Get ready, Houston! From April 26 to May 4, the city will come alive with the vibrant energy of Black Queer AF (BQAF) Week. Hosted by The Normal Anomaly, one of the leading voices in the Black LGBTQ+ movement, this year's BQAF promises to be more than just a celebration—"It’s a movement." In the face of over 80 anti-LGBTQ+ bills recently filed in Texas, bringing this event to the South is a bold and necessary act of defiance.

The theme for this year's festival is "VISIBILITY," calling for Black queer+ voices to be seen and heard louder than ever before. It’s a celebration of culture, resilience, and solidarity. Featuring an all-Black and LGBTQ+ lineup, with incredible musical performances and expanded programming, BQAF Week offers a one-of-a-kind experience that amplifies the voices of both the Black and LGBTQ+ communities nationwide.
