At 17, Alvino was spotted, approached, and asked to play with blues legend KoKo Taylor. He also began performing with blues and R&B luminaries like Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Cash McCall, and Mighty Joe Young.

In 1974, Bennett was asked to tour with the late great songstress Minnie Riperton. Touring with Riperton opened the doors for many other projects, including working with Gong Show Guest Jaye P. Morgan and Motown’s best-kept secret, The Originals. In addition, Alvino also worked with The Sylvers and recorded with other leading Motown artists.
Bennett hit on one of the most significant projects of his career in 1978 when he joined the million-unit selling R&B band, “L.T.D.” Alvino’s excellent reputation spread, and he became a highly sought-after drummer. Alvino has played with music legends like Cheryl Lynn, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins, Bryan Ferry, Robin Trower, Sheena Easton, Slash’s Blues Ball, Patrice Rushen, Little Richard, Bo Diddley… and many more.
When not on tour, he writes and produces his music and works with other artists. Alvino teaches at Pulse Drumming, School of Drums and Percussion in Ventura, CA.

Jesse Colin Young pioneered American roots music for more than half a century. He has left a unique mark on the intersecting worlds of folk, blues, jazz, country, and rock & roll. As the frontman of the Youngbloods, he immortalized the ideals of the Woodstock generation with "Get Together," an international hit that called for peace and brotherhood during the turbulent 1960s.
During the following decades, Young expanded his audience and his artistic range, releasing a string of solo albums that mixed socially conscious lyrics with top-tier guitar skills and gorgeous vocals.
An acclaimed songwriter, singer, instrumentalist, producer, label owner, podcast host, and longtime social/environmental activist, he has established a permanent place in America's musical landscape while continuing to make modern music that's every bit as vital as his work during the counterculture era.
