THE MIKE GORMLEY SHOW - Featuring Jaan Uhelszkii - Co-Founder, Editorial Director CREEM Magazine
LISTEN TO THE PODCAST INTERVIEW - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-mike-gormley-show/id1745148076?i=1000694897586
This is truly a special interview. Long-time friends, colleagues, and mutual admirers Mike Gormley and Jaan Uhelszki take you behind the curtain and show you the gritty world of rock and roll, from backstage confessions to Detroit Rock City, as only they can, from a rock writer's perspective.
Jaan Uhelszki was one of the founding editors at Detroit’s legendary CREEM magazine, where she helped pioneer a new form of rock journalism that combined critical analysis with a fan’s love of music.
Since then, her work – characterized by an acutely keen observational eye and an ability to draw out previously unheard confessions -- has appeared in USA Today, Rolling Stone, Spin, Classic Rock, Uncut, and Guitar World.
Currently the editorial director at the relaunched CREEM for the past three years and co-author of the recently released "MC5: A Oral Biography of Rock’s Most Revolutionary Band," she is the only journalist to have ever performed in full makeup with Kiss. Luckily, now she only wears Victoria Beckham eyeliner.
*Jaan Uhelszki curated the Original Music Soundtrack for the interview
