The Japanese House at The Fonda

Alt-pop darling The Japanese House (helmed by Amber Bain) played a sold out show in LA at The Fonda Theatre as a part of the North American Tour in support of her critically acclaimed album In The End It Always Does.

Bain's vulnerable lyrics and down to earth songs offer a reflection on love, loss, and personal identity. Leaning even further into her pop side and exploring her innermost thoughts and feelings, the new album features collaborations with Dirty Hit label mates George Daniel and Matty Healy of The 1975, MUNA’s Katie Gavin, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Charli XCX.

TJH recently released ITEIAD Sessions, a collection of live versions of fan-favorites from her critically-acclaimed sophomore album In the End It Always Does. In addition to the album tracks, ITEIAD Sessions also includes a heartfelt stripped-down re-imagining of ABBA’s “Super Trouper,” which Bain performed live as an encore. Another highlight was the performance of "Morning Pages," which features MUNA's Katie Gavin. Gavin hobbled onstage with crutches to sing with Bain, with the assistance of her bandmates on either side.
