Toby Kuhn of L.A. mellow pop duo Tangerine told us abut his love for his '68 Fender Blender Pedal .
Toby Kuhn: I found this pedal over a decade ago at the Trading Musician in Seattle (RIP). I used to go to the store all the time and play around with pedals—this one was by far the most expensive one I’d been tempted by but after a few minutes of messing around I knew I had to grit my teeth and take it home.
The “imperfections” in the fuzz and even just the static sound and left hand movement captured on the strings are enough to give this pedal a special place at the front of my board, in the studio and for performances. Rips for a solo, creates an awesome wall of sound for rhythm.
