Grammy-winning artist (and MC cover artist) Susan Tedeschi has announced that she has signed with CAA’s Senior Music Agent Brian Greenbaum. Greenbaum, representing acts ranging from Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and Paul Simon to Ryan Bingham, Charley Crockett, Blake Mills and more. Greenbaum has been nominated four times for Pollstar’s “Agent of the Year” award.
The signing coincides with the 25th anniversary reissue of her 1998 album Just Won’t Burn. Speaking to Spin last December, Tedeschi said, “That record was a big turning point for me. It helped me get out there and be able to tour with my solo band.”
On Tedeschi’s signing with CAA, Greenbaum says, “I am thrilled to be working with Susan.I have been a long-time fan of her and her music and look forward to working with her and team.”
Earlier this year it was announced that Tedeschi and her husband, acclaimed musician Derek Truck, joined Full Stop Management for their solo endeavors. Andy Mendelsohn, who is also Kings of Leon manager, has partnered with longtime Tedeschi Trucks Band manager Blake Budney of Milestone Music Management to direct the powerhouse band who hold a well-deserved reputation as one of the best live acts touring today.
A Boston native, Tedeschi emerged on the national scene in the late ‘90s when her breakthrough album, Just Won’t Burn, achieved Gold status and helped her earn a nomination in the coveted all-genre, Best New Artist category at the 2000 Grammy Awards. Since then, the singer, guitarist and songwriter has established herself as one of the most significant blues and American roots musicians of her generation. Recently, Tedeschi received the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal from the Smithsonian Institution during Dec. 8 ceremonies at the National Museum of American History in Washington D.C.
In 2010 she and Trucks created the Tedeschi Trucks Band, a 12-piece ensemble of virtuoso musicians that has earned a two-time Grammy-winning global reputation for their artistic blend of bona fide rock swagger, blues-fused improvisation, lush jazz mastery and roots music authenticity. In 2022, they released their ambitious, four-part I Am the Moon, their first new studio release in three years with 24-songs inspired by a 12th century Persian poem that further elevated them on the creative spectrum. Since forming, Tedeschi Trucks Band has released eight studio and three live albums, including their Grammy-winning debut Revelator.
