Submit to John Lennon Songwriting Contest

Brian Rothschild, Co-founder and Executive Director of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, announces that the deadline for the annual Contest has been extended to December 31. Songwriters, bands, producers, and artists are encouraged to enter their original songs at JLSC.com, and qualify to win from over $300,000 in cash awards and prizes. Celebrated judges from all genres include George Clinton, Prince Royce, Gaby Moreno, Chris Barron, Lita Ford, Bob Weir, Nathan East, the Bacon Brothers, and Art Alexakis, among others. Proceeds from Contest entry fees go to help support the non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.

All entrants are also automatically entered into the Stuck At Home weekly contests, created due to the disruption of the live music and entertainment business. The weekly contests provide entrants with even more opportunities to win great home studio gear. Songwriters must enter each week by Sunday at 11:59PM PDT, with weekly winners announced on Mondays at 2PM EDT during the daily Lennon Bus Instagram Live events featuring celebrity guests, music experts, JLSC winners and entrants, and more.

This is the 23rd year of the Contest and the efforts of the non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus’ state-of-the-art audio and video studios, dedicated to providing students with free hands-on opportunities to create original music, videos, short films, and documentaries. Lennon Contest and Bus sponsors include Gibson/Epiphone Guitars, Genelec monitors, Audio-Technica headphones and microphones, FocusRite Plug-ins, K&M Stands, Neutrik custom cables and connectors, OWC storage solutions, Reason Studios, Sonicbids memberships, and digital subscriptions to Guitar Player, Electronic Musician, Bass Player, and Keyboard publications.

Brian Rothschild said, “This year would have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday, so the success of the Contest and Bus are a testament to the enduring legacy of John’s life, his commitment to artistic expression and, of course, peace.”
