Step Aboard the Queen Mary for a Night of Reggae, Jazz, and Refined Revelry

This spring, the Queen Mary isn’t just a historic ocean liner—it’s the setting for one of the most elegant and immersive music events of the year. Hosted by Sound Pressure Labs, the True SPL Immersive Sanctuary & Gala promises a night (and morning) of world-class music, gourmet dining, and exclusive access to an industry-forward community, all aboard one of Long Beach’s most iconic landmarks.

So, who is behind this grand production? Sound Pressure Labs describes itself as “a true immersive sanctuary,” dedicated to curating elevated experiences where music, community, and creativity meet. As a statement from the company reveals, the May 31 event is “an extraordinary celebration of music, luxury, and community.”

And they mean it. The event begins with check-in at 4:00 p.m., followed by doors opening at 5:00 p.m. Guests are then treated to a gourmet dinner with full table service and a hosted bar beginning at 5:30 p.m.—because fine music deserves fine dining.

At 6:30 p.m., the real show begins. A lineup of legendary reggae and jazz performers will take the stage in the Queen Mary’s historic Grand Ballroom:

  • Marcia Griffiths, celebrating 60 years in music and best known for her time with Bob Marley and the Wailers
  • Lloyd Parks & We the People Band
  • Ken Boothe, Jamaica’s Mr. Rock Steady
  • Stranger Cole, a foundational figure in ska history
  • The Jeff Young Group
  • Immersive Jazz Band Slingbad
  • Plus a few surprise guests to round out the night

The music continues until midnight—but the evening doesn’t stop there. An exclusive VIP After Party runs from midnight to 4:00 a.m., with limited-capacity access available to select ticket holders.

As expected from an SPL event, the ticket tiers reflect thoughtful attention to experience and detail.

  • Gold Class Tickets include shuttle service, accommodations in a Queen Mary hotel room, ballroom seating, gourmet dinner, hosted bar, and access to the VIP After Party.
  • Platinum Class Tickets offer everything from Gold, plus premium seating, an expanded dinner and drink menu, a hosted meet & greet with event swag, and priority after party access.
  • VIP Elite Class Tickets provide the most elevated experience: luxurious suites or staterooms, premier stage-side seating (with the option to dine alongside a performing artist), exclusive bar and dinner options, an elite meet & greet with gifts, and high-tier access to the after party.

Attendees also have the option to purchase discounted companion tickets, provided a minimum of two are purchased to unlock the full experience.

From the handpicked artist lineup to the setting itself—the Queen Mary’s historic halls, glamorous architecture, and sweeping harbor views—this event isn’t just a concert, it’s a curated escape.
