Following the Spotify's Discover Weekly and New Music Fridays playlists, the streaming service has unveiled a new feature, which aims to complement the previous two: Release Radar. With Release Radar, users are given a weekly selection of the newest releases in one convenient playlist.
Updated every Friday, RR provides up to two hours of the newest drops from the artists users follow and listen to the most, along with new discoveries based on their recent listening habits. Release Radar complements New Music Friday, which connects undiscovered hot new artists. The personalized playlist will soon be found in the “New Releases for You” section within Discover on mobile and desktop.
“With the huge amount of new music released every week, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest tracks,” says Matt Ogle, Senior Product Owner at Spotify. “With Release Radar, we wanted to create the simplest way for you to find all the newly released music that matters the most to you, in one playlist.”
As users’ music taste evolves, so will Release Radar. Because it’s a playlist, it’s accessible to listen to across all platforms and devices, it can be shared with friends or made available offline.
