Shelter Music Group has expanded internationally, announcing a new partnership with AYITA to further build the company’s artist management division.
The deal adds AYITA’s 31-client roster, increasing Shelter’s number of management clients to now total 103, overseen by 41 employees with offices in Los Angeles, Nashville, and London helmed by the executive team of Carl Stubner, Brian Harris Frank, and Dino Paredes. Prior to partnering with BMG in late 2019, Shelter included eight managers and 17 clients.
AYITA partners, Brett Fischer, David Gray, Harvey Tadman, and Stevie Dreher will now join Shelter’s management team and effectively launch BMG’s entrance into artist management in the UK, with AYITA becoming a division of Shelter Music Group.
Joining Shelter’s management roster of artists including Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, the Buddy Holly estate, Godsmack, Seether, Crowded House, A Perfect Circle, Mothica, and many others, AYITA brings notable clients including Grammy-nominated Australian house producer FISHER, UK chart-topping BRIT-nominated artist 220 Kid (published by BMG), Grammy-nominated electronic music producer and DJ Chris Lake, Grammy-winning electronic music trio NERO, Noizu, Kiss FM's Majestic, and songwriter Autumn Rowe, among many others.
In a group statement, AYITA’s partners said, “We are thrilled to be joining forces with Shelter and look forward to working with them to create and maximize global opportunities for our clients. This strategic alliance with BMG brings additional resources that will yield immediate benefits and immense possibilities for the future.”
Carl Stubner, Chairman, Shelter Music Group, said, “In these unprecedented times, we are fortunate not just to be moving forward, but to be growing our company with new high-level managers and clients. We benefit from having such a great partner in BMG who believes in our mission and supports our endeavors. We are excited to be partnering with AYITA and providing them with the resources to offer expanded services to their clients.”
Brian Harris Frank, COO, Shelter Music Group, said, “Adding the AYITA team and its roster to Shelter illustrates our commitment to growth both in genre and geography. Their clients are highly respected and achieving global success, specifically in the US, UK, and Australia. We’re proud to have them as part of the Shelter family.
Earlier this year, Shelter also added manager Scott McGhee and his clients, BeXar and Love & Theft, to their Nashville office. In addition, Shelter’s service offerings have expanded to include a record label, Shelter Records, with recent signings ZZ Top, Richard Marx, and Our Lady Peace, and a book publishing imprint.
BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch said, “When BMG first partnered with Carl Stubner and Shelter in 2019, we said we would create a new global management service option for our clients with access to all of BMG’s resources. Despite the pandemic, I’m proud to say our plan is well underway with Shelter expanding its international presence and increasing its client base more than fivefold since then. Our ambitions remain unchanged. We congratulate Shelter on its growing scale and scope.”
