Today, Secretly Distribution announces a worldwide distribution deal with Invada Records. Invada Records is an UK independent record company co-owned by musician, producer & composer Geoff Barrow (Portishead, BEAK>) and long term business partner Redg Weeks.
Based in Bristol, England, Invada was formed in the early 2000s and has released music by artists / acts such as DROKK, The KVB, Jeremy Gara (Arcade Fire), BEAK>, Divide And Dissolve, Anika, Billy Nomates, Gazelle Twin, Colin Stetson, Sleafords Mods, TVAM, Benefits & Julian Cope, to name but a few.
The label has also contributed to the rise of popularity in soundtrack culture over the past 15 or so years.
Invada has built a reputation for releasing some of the most important modern and contemporary film, television and video games scores, including the likes of Stranger Things, Drive, Ex Machina, Solaris, Red Dead Redemption 2, Hannibal, Dark, Annihilation and Black Mirror. All of these becoming critically and commercially successful without sacrificing the principles that the label was built upon.
Composers including Mica Levi, Jonny Greenwood, Johan Johannsson, PJ Harvey, Bobby Krlic (The Haxan Cloak), Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Oliver Coates, Lucrecia Dalt, Clint Mansell, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Cliff Martinez, Georgia Moroder and of course Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury themselves have all had some of their most critically acclaimed and popular scores / soundtracks released via Invada.
The new partnership with Invada Records arrives in tandem with Secretly Distribution’s recently secured, fully independent and top-tier path to market for physical distribution in the UK, having launched Cargo Independent Distribution alongside Beggars Group and Cargo Records UK last fall.
