Bing Crosby continues to hold the title of “King of Christmas” as his estate and Primary Wave Music announce several exciting new activations. Crosby was one of the 20th century’s greatest multi-media stars. He was a major force in the development of three industries – audio recordings, motion pictures, and radio broadcasting. Today, his estate along with the team at Primary Wave Music continue to use his very playbook that helped elevate him to stardom to expand his presence by using new mediums and new technology to reach new audiences.
This year’s holiday traditions kicked off with the release and 45th anniversary celebration of the Bing & Bowie classic “Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy.” The track, which has been referred to as “one of the most successful duets in Christmas music history”, was released as a limited edition, candy cane swirl colored, 45 RPM vinyl. The duo also released a limited merch capsule that is available now at Bing’s revitalized e-commerce store – store.bingcrosby.com
Another exciting partnership that was recently confirmed is Crosby’s Winter Wonderland within the metaverse. Located in Decentraland, Bing’s amusement park is a love letter to the aesthetic of a classic Bing Crosby Christmas. Visitors to Bing’s Winter Wonderland in Decentraland will be able to experience newly designed mini-games themed for the holiday season. They’ll see “Bing’s Sweater Shop” where patrons can purchase Crosby’s Christmas sweaters for their avatars, a Bing Crosby Museum and more.
