Ramona Gonzalez (Nite Jewel) will host a songwriter's lecture series from Feb. 27 through Apr. 16 at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Gonzalez is currently a Professor at Occidental, where she is teaching an undergraduate class in the practice of songwriting whilst also working on her Ph.D. in musicology at UCLA.
The series invites prominent local songwriters Asa Taccone (Electric Guest), Ariel Pink, Cole M. Greif-Neill, and Julia Holter in conversation with Gonzalez in which they discuss their careers, outlooks, and creative processes. All the lectures are free and open to the public. The series is sponsored by the Remsen Bird Fund.
