Metallica, touring in support of their tenth studio album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, brought their WorldWired 2017 North American stadium tour to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on July 29. Opening for the band was heavy metal bands, Avenged Sevenfold, and Gojira.
When Metallica entered the stage, the crowd went wild. The band treated fans to an explosion of intense pyrotechnics and classic hits such as “For Whom The Bell Tolls,” “One,” “Master Of Puppets” and “Seek & Destroy.” Throughout the show frontman James Hetfield pumped up the crowd, even playfully teased them with a short rendition of Van Halen’s “Running With the Devil.” The audience's excitement never dulled, as the band did what they do best, perform. Metallica's amazing musicianship and energy proved that they are still on the top of their game. The band ended with an enormous bang, ending with the crowd favorite "Enter Sandman"-which also set off an spectacular array of fireworks, perfect way to end the night.
