MELLOW, CONTEMPORARY INDIE SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.
The Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Dark Days” which is currently temped in:
"Dark Days" by Local Natives ft. Sylvan Esso
NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!
Quote from the Music Supervisor: "This Song will be used over a scene of two young guys riding bicycles. Music that's mellow, and also a little hopeful and optimistic like the Local Natives Song will work well."
Please submit well-written, contemporary Indie Songs that capture the vibe and feel of the reference track. Like the Music Supervisor said, they're looking for Songs that are mellow, but also slightly hopeful and optimistic, so try to infuse those feelings into your melodies, instrumentation, and vocal deliveries. Your production quality should be on par with the reference as well.
Lyric Tip: Although the Music Supervisor is looking for a slightly hopeful and optimistic vibe, we don't think that means he wants super happy, sunshine-y lyric themes. We suggest concentrating on capturing that feeling through your compositions and productions, rather than submitting Songs with lyric themes about being optimistic, happy, or hopeful.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist or Song in any way, shape, or form. Use the reference as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
The estimated license fee is (up to) $1,000, depending on the placement. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recording, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. No Publisher splits. You must own or control your Copyright and Master Recording to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020. TAXI # S200812ND
