Los Angeles College of Music Chosen to Host 'American Idol' Auditions

The Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena was selected to host exclusive in-person auditions for American Idol Thursday, November 14th at The Garage Stage, the school’s state-of-the art live performance environment, and again in a virtual audition last Wednesday, November 20th. Both current and former students and alumni were offered the chance to perform in front of American Idol Senior Supervising Casting Producer Peter Cohen, giving them a rare chance to make their mark in one of the most renowned singing competitions in the world.

“LACM is thrilled for the opportunity to work with American Idol to be able to bring this exclusive experience to our students and alumni,” said Erin Workman, Executive VP and Department Head for Songwriting and Music Business. “These auditions underscore LACM’s commitment to providing our musicians with the resources, mentorship, and exposure they need to take their careers to the next level. We are incredibly proud to be part of the American Idol journey and excited to watch our talented students shine.”

The exclusive auditions attracted a wide range of musical styles and genres, offering LACM students a unique platform to be noticed for their vocal abilities, stage presence, and individuality. This event also reflects the college’s growing reputation as a premier institution for music education, attracting attention from some of the most influential names in the industry. Past LACM students Margie Mays and Jonny West have been previously cast on the show, giving them a platform to showcase their talents to millions of viewers across the U.S.
