Live Nation Entertainment is planning for extensive improvements and expansions to Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island for its 2013 summer entertainment season. These changes will enhance the concert experience for patrons and artists alike while expanding the range of talent the facility can accommodate.
Specifics of the plan include:
A brand new, expanded stage ready for the most advanced touring productions
Upgraded LED screens on either side of the stage for crisp, brilliant visuals
New and upgraded lighting and other technical equipment
Brand new, fully replaced seating throughout the floor and grandstands of the venue
Newly redeveloped lawn space to the south allowing for flexible capacity up to 30,000 patrons for select shows
Over double the grassy areas throughout the facility
Newly renovated restrooms
New VIP club location within the VIP seating grandstand
Preservation of breathtaking Chicago skyline views from within the venue

As in past years, Charter One Pavilion will remain a semi-permanent facility with various elements being removed and stored at the conclusion of the season.
Since its opening night featuring the band Chicago in 2005, Charter One Pavilion has brought a wealth of talent to the beautiful park setting of Northerly Island, including artists such as Tom Petty, John Mayer, Stevie Nicks, Destiny's Child, Earth Wind & Fire, Marc Anthony, Stevie Wonder, The Beastie Boys, Jill Scott, Jay-Z, Nine Inch Nails, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Black Crowes, the Allman Brothers Band, Patti LaBelle, Ringo Starr & His All Star Band, the Zac Brown Band, Rush, and over 150 others. Patrons and artists alike have come to appreciate the beauty and comfort of the Charter One Pavilion experience.
Also announced today is the first date using the new configuration in Charter One Pavilion’s 2013 season, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band on Saturday, June 29. Tickets for this event will go on sale Monday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. at all Ticketmaster locations and at LiveNation.com.
