Lee Brice You, Me and My Guitar solo tour relies on TT+ Audio GTX

Lee Brice is currently on the road for a special solo tour titled You, Me and My Guitar, bringing fans an intimate, career-spanning journey through his music. With just a microphone, a guitar—well, about 14 guitars—and a deeply personal setlist, Brice is giving audiences a rare and up-close experience. To ensure crystal-clear, high-fidelity audio in every venue, front-of-house engineer Wayne Pauley and the veteran RCF live sound team of Tarik Solangi, Michael Lawrence and Chris Medders have chosen RCF’s flagship TT+ Audio GTX as the primary PA system at select locations.

The tour, which plays 1,500 to 2,500-seat theaters, requires an efficient yet powerful sound system. Previously using the GTX 12, Pauley opted for the GTX 10 this time around, a choice driven by both space constraints and the specific needs of the show. “The GTX 10 just seems to work better for these mid-sized theaters,” says Pauley. “A 12-inch box would be overkill for rooms this size, and we had to fit everything into just 12 feet of truck space. The GTX 10 is the perfect balance of size, power, and efficiency.”

A flexible, high-fidelity setup
Unlike arena tours, where a dedicated PA system travels with the band, this tour adopts a hybrid approach. If a venue’s in-house PA system meets the necessary standards or can’t be replaced, it is used; if not, the team deploys their own GTX system. This guarantees a consistent and high-quality audio experience for every show where the system can be hung while eliminating the need for promoter-supplied third-party rentals.

For the venues utilizing the TT+ Audio’s GTX touring PA, the system is composed of 12 GTX 10 boxes per side, three GTS 29 subs per side, four TT 515-As as front fills, three XPS 16KD amplifiers per side and RCF RDNet software control.

The system is designed to handle the unique sonic challenges of a solo acoustic performance, with high dynamic range and clarity being top priority. “Lee’s vocal performance swings dramatically from a whisper to full voice belting high notes,” says Pauley. “We’re talking about an 82 to 98 dB swing at times. The GTX 10 delivers that range transparently, keeping the integrity of his voice intact no matter the volume.”

Speed and efficiency on the road
Beyond pristine sound, the GTX system is also engineered for efficiency on tour. The entire PA can be deployed and struck down rapidly. “It’s incredibly fast,” says Pauley. “We’re doing 60-minute loadouts with full production. The PA comes down so quickly that our team can have everything packed before I’ve even finished tearing down Front-of-House.”

A touring system that adapts
Given the varying configurations of each theater, the GTX system’s adaptability is crucial. “Some halls won’t let you fly the system, and we’re not in a position to make huge demands,” Pauley explains. “But when we can hang it, it’s fantastic. In Augusta, Georgia, we flew it behind the main curtain and still got incredible clarity all the way to the back wall—over 100 feet away. It felt like listening to nearfields.”

RDNet for precision control
Each venue where the GTX system is deployed brings a new acoustic environment. With RDNet, system setup and tuning is quick and precise. “We tune at multiple volumes to make sure the system remains consistent across levels,” Pauley notes. “What’s impressive about the GTX 10 is its linearity—it doesn’t drastically change character from 85 dB to 105 dB. That’s rare in a PA system.”

A perfect match for an intimate show
This solo tour is a deeply personal experience, somewhat akin to the storytelling format of the classic VH1 sessions. With TT+ Audio GTX, Lee Brice’s voice and music are delivered with clarity and authenticity, ensuring every audience hears the raw emotion and detail that make each performance special.
