Lectrosonics, Inc. has announced the introduction of the StandWrench multi-tool, ideal for use by musicians from students to professionals, bands, performers, churches, and educational facilities. The StandWrench provides a variety of utilities, especially for anyone who is faced with the “loose music stand” problem at gigs, rehearsals, and even in the home. The tool can be used for any light-duty purpose where the wrench opening sizes match the equipment in need of adjustment.
Made in the Lectrosonics HQ and factory in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, USA, the StandWrench is precision laser cut from 14 gauge, cold-rolled stainless steel and yet weighs only 1.5 Oz (42.5 g). With a nearly flat profile, the StandWrench is designed to be ultra-portable and fits neatly into a gig bag or instrument case pocket. The wrench has specific hex “sockets” for 17mm, 9/16”, ½”, 7/16”, 3/8”, and 5/16” along with a large flat-blade screwdriver tip, covering the most common adjustment points on professional music stands.
“Several of our employees are musicians and this idea came up in discussions about an issue we’ve all seen over the years.” explains Karl Winkler, Executive VP of Product Design at Lectrosonics. “A music stand with parts that aren’t tight can really be a bummer at a rehearsal, service, or gig. We think the StandWrench represents a really convenient and inexpensive solution to that problem.”
The StandWrench is available in two forms: as a single unit, and as the StandWrench-Pair with two of the tools and a small plastic retaining clip.
This video shows the background of the StandWrench and how the tool is used.
The StandWrench is available at the following retailers: Robertson & Sons Violin Shop, Sweetwater Sound as well as other retailers (click here for a list,) and in the Lectrosonics online store (U.S. only).
