KSD Studio Monitors, premier designers of hand-crafted loudspeakers and pioneers in DSP studio monitor technology, announced the North American release of their C55 Reference Monitor, exclusively distributed by and designed in partnership with Sound Vision Works. An active 2.5 way design, the C55 Reference features a Coaxial 5.5” driver and dedicated 5.5” woofer, resulting in powerful low-frequency response and optimal radiation for critical listening.
“The C55 Reference Monitors address an unmet need in the U.S. marketplace, but more importantly, foster the evolving artistic and creative needs of engineers,” says Johannes Siegler, Managing Director of KSD. “Together with Sound Vision Works, we recognized an opportunity to craft a monitor free from the constraints of traditional design where cabinet is king. With FIRTEC™ as our foundation, the C55 Reference is a powerful reference speaker with a small footprint.”
As with all of KSD’s offerings, the C55 Reference Monitors employ patented, phase-linear FIRTEC™ system filters for ultra-low latency, phase-aligned feedback. Behaving as a point source radiator, the monitors may be positioned in landscape or portrait while maintaining an accurate audio experience, and include integrated, industry-standard mounting points, making the C55 Reference ideal for use as a nearfield monitor when tracking or mixing. The C55s can integrate into a range of professional spaces, from home studios to large-scale immersive rooms.
Additional features include 350W amplification for substantial power reserves, high-efficiency proprietary drivers to reduce distortion at higher volumes, and PWM power amplifiers for enhanced durability and performance.
The C55 is now available through select retailers for $4,098 USD per pair, $2,049 USD per monitor, in natural cherry, black or white front panels.
