Noah Weinstein of LA-via-Atlanta-based pop-rock trio Koyal told us about his love for "Riggy," their in-ear monitoring system
Noah Weinstein: 'Riggy' is much more than just our in-ear monitoring system - he’s the fourth member of our band! Many musicians use IEMs to protect their hearing by monitoring through quiet headphones instead of loudspeakers on stage. I designed our system to have many components: Shure PSM300 for wireless in-ears, Apollo for high quality compression and reverb, a wireless microphone, and the Midas M32C which is the brains of the operation. The Midas handles backing & click tracks from the computer and outputs both our personal monitoring mixes and our entire front of house set mix. Riggy can also function as a mobile 16 channel recording device which allows us to record stems of our entire set to release later!
Our album breathe in. breathe out releases February 28, and having the insane flexibility that Riggy provides to design our live performance for this record is incredibly freeing. The sky's the limit with the shows we’re about to put on."
