President and CEO Tyler Bacon announced today that RIAA platinum-selling artist and writer Khalid “Khal” Yassein has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Position Music. In addition to being the
lead writer and male vocalist of the indie folk band Wild Rivers, Yassein has collaborated with notable artists such as Sasha Sloan, venbee, Oh Wonder, Morgan Evans, The Fray, Matt Hansen, Maddie Zahm, and more.
The Canadian-born writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist co-founded Wild Rivers in 2015. Yassein has written and co-produced on all Wild Rivers releases, which have garnered more than 500 million streams and an audience
of over 4 million monthly listeners. The trio’s breakout single, “Thinking ‘Bout Love,” was certified Gold in Australia and Platinum in Canada. Recently, the band served as direct support for The Chicks on their 2023 US arena tour
as well as Noah Kahan on his sold-out 2024 European arena tour. Yassein’s recent and upcoming cuts include songs with The Reklaws, Phillip Phillips, Suriel Hess, elijah woods, Zach Seabaugh, Kyle Hume, and Tyrone Wells.
