California’s three-day rock experience - KAABOO Del Mar - has released its highly-anticipated 2018 lineup for music, and comedy. Set to take place at the Del Mar Racetrack and the adjacent fairgrounds overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the beautiful beachfront community of Del Mar, the San Diego area’s most prominent music, entertainment, and arts extravaganza takes place Sept. 14-16.
Katy Perry, Foo Fighters and Imagine Dragons will headline 2018s KAABOO Del Mar. Also confirmed to perform are Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters, Incubus, Slash, featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Stone Temple Pilots, Billy Idol, Alice in Chains, Halsey, Jewel, Earth, Wind & Fire, and much more. You can view KAABOO’s well-rounded list of performers, which includes three other Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Blondie, Slash and Elvin Bishop, along with an eclectic mix of veteran acts and rising young stars here.
“We very carefully curate our lineup,” said Jason Felts, the festival’s leading brand, and marketing officer. He is also the CEO of KAABOO partner Virgin Produced, the entertainment division of Richard Branson’s worldwide Virgin business empire.
“As with every year of KAABOO,” Felts continued, “we try and have an equal focus on today’s hit-makers and iconic, bucket-list artists who have a catalog of songs our guests would love to hear live.”
KAABOO’s comedy roster will feature Craig Ferguson, Iliza Shlesinger, Nick Offerman, Craig Robinson, Chris Hardwick, Whitney Cummins, Kevin Nealon and at least six more.
In only its fourth year, the upscale curated “mixperience” continues to build momentum on the success of the last three multi-generational and diverse events. Already established as a significant player in the live event sector, the all-ages “music lovers escape” extravaganza indulges all the senses with a variety of onsite experiences designed around comfort, quality and exceptional times. In addition to its notable world-class live music performances, KAABOO features exciting art exhibits, hilarious comedy with nationally recognized comedians, late-night disco parties featuring award-winning DJs (18+), gourmet food and cooking demonstrations by today’s culinary stars, craft drinks, private poolside cabanas and much more.
The annual fest has featured iconic music acts like Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers (sadly, Tom Petty’s headlining performance at last year’s KAABOO, was one of Petty’s final performances. He died 15 days later), P!nk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ice Cube, Aerosmith, the Killers, and Snoop Dogg. It's expected to draw more than 100,000 people over the upcoming mid-September weekend.
