Alternative singer-songwriter Jennifer Hope has released her cover version of Linkin Park's "My December" to raise awareness of and contributions for Music for Relief’s One More Light Fund in memory of Chester Bennington.
A one dollar donation is all that is required to receive a download code, but any additional amount is appreciated and your extended generosity can further help many in their time of need. All donations go to the charity through the PayPal giving fund.
The track is available through October 27, 2017 at gofundme, gofundme.com/chester-bennington-tribute-campaign.
When asked why she was compelled to record this song and create this fundraiser, Jennifer explains, "I was first inspired to record 'My December' back in December of 2016. I always thought that this bonus track on the Hybrid Theory was underplayed. After various delays, my cover version was completed on July 20, 2017. I heard about the passing of Chester Bennington shortly thereafter."
"In the shock and sadness of the news, 'My December' felt more like a tribute. After taking time to consider the delays I had in creating this track and the timing in which it was finally completed, I feel as though this version of 'My December' is meant for Chester Bennington/the Music for Relief, One More Light Fund. I hope in some way recreating this beautiful song provides a source of solace in the loss of Chester Bennington and extends to those who have lost loved ones to suicide."
