Singer-Songwriter Ryan Hurd Joins RCA Nashville

Michigan native Ryan Hurd has joined Sony Music Nashville as the newest addition to RCA Nashville’s roster alongside Miranda Lambert, Chris Young, Jake Owen, Old Dominion and Kane Brown. Named an Artist To Watch by Huffington Post, VEVO, Rolling Stone Country and CMT, Hurd, a celebrated Nashville songwriter with cuts by country superstars including Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Brothers Osborne and Dierks Bentley, came onto the country genre as an artist this Fall.

Releasing four co-penned tracks over the span of four months, Hurd’s solo introduction has been met with rapid fire success and fans eager to discover the soulful, alt-country artist’s new sound. Leading with “We Do Us” followed by “Love In A Bar,” “City Girl” and most recently “Hold You Back,” Hurd’s collection has garnered a 13 million streams in over three months across all platforms, and all four tracks scored placement in Spotify’s highly coveted New Music Friday and Hot Country playlists.

“I’m convinced Ryan Hurd will be one of our new artist breakouts in 2017,” shares Sony Music Nashville Chairman and CEO, Randy Goodman. “He delivers on every level from his innovative songwriting to his dynamic live show. I’ve long been a fan of Ryan’s songwriting and everyone at Sony Music Nashville, particularly RCA, are happy and honored to have the opportunity to work alongside him.”

As buzz built on Hurd around Nashville, Chase Rice tapped him for his Everybody We Know Does Tour with over 20 cross-country stops this past Fall. With his live show and a set-list packed with hits, Hurd quickly developed a bubbling underground fan base city-by-city.

Continuing to hone his live show craft, Hurd kicks off 2017 on The HERO Tour 2017 with Best New Artist Grammy-nominee Maren Morris playing sold-out dates in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia and Athens, GA. In February, Hurd joins the star-studded lineup on Thomas Rhett’s 2017 Home Team Tour alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Russell Dickerson for a 15-show run ending with two sold-out nights at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheatre on April 20 and 21.
