Irocke.com, a source for live digital concerts worldwide, has announced Forever Festival, a seven-day live digital concert experience celebrating the musicians, fans and pioneers leading the explosive global growth of live digital concerts. More than 200 million viewers around the world have experienced live digital concerts via Internet connected devices such as computers, smartphones, TVs, and game consoles since 2012.
On August 4, 2013 at 5:00pm PST, the Forever Festival kicks-off a weeklong live broadcast of music performances available for viewing on the official festival site www.4evrfest.com and festival partner sites. Artist and venue line-ups will be announced on July 25, 2013. Additional information and updates are available on the official Forever Festival website and by following #4EVRFEST.
“The Forever Festival celebrates the pioneers of the global live digital music industry,” said Karl Rogers, co-founder and CEO of irocke.com. “In the same way the 60’s communal spirit revived the music festival format, these modern-day ‘live digital concert’ visionaries are re-imagining what is possible with live music performance, and are changing live music, forever."
Forever Festival viewers will enjoy over 200 free and PPV performances by a wide range of artists collaborating with live digital concert venues around the world including: Austin City Limits Live; Beta Nightclub; Beatport Live; The Bing Lounge; Bulldog Digital Media; Concert Window; Livebeats; MoonTunes; MobileRider; The Roxy Theatre; ShowGo.tv; Silverback Music and Management; Springboard Productions; SkyRoomLive.com; Stageit; Stageside Live; TRI Studios; USTREAM, and more.
“Live video will transform entertainment, giving artists compelling ways to engage fans and build their brand without a big investment. With its live video programming guide and market research, IROCKE is enabling the first new music product since MTV," says Roger McNamee, musician in the pioneering live streaming band Moonalice, and co-founder of MoonTunes.
The Forever Festival will be anchored from four live broadcast hubs across the globe and directed by visionaries in the live digital concert industry. They include:
The North American Hub, based in Los Angeles, is produced and directed by Allen Sanford, co-founder and COO of IROCKE. “Live digital distribution is a positive disruption of the music business that provides a new and rewarding path for artists and audiences to enjoy live music,” said Sanford.
The Sub-Saharan Hub, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, is produced and directed by Eban Oliver, founder of SkyRoomLive in partnership with NOKIA MUSIC and SABC1 television network.
The European Hub, based in Berlin, is produced by Mr. Oliver and directed by Leon Reteif of SkyRoomLive Berlin in partnership with “the nhow music” and lifestyle hotel Berlin.
The South American Hub is produced and directed by Clinton Cox, CEO of Cheetah Lounge, a veteran of premium live video production for festivals including ULTRA Music Festival, Bang Music Festival and artists such as Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, and others.
Leaders in the live digital music industry will share their insights during the Forever Festival’s Sound & Vision event broadcast on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 5pm PST. Participants include: Roger McNamee, musician and venture capitalist; Jay Samit, President, ooVoo, a live video platform serving over 80 million consumers; Peter Csathy, CEO, Manatt Digital Media Ventures; Marc Scarpa, executive producer/director of Simplynew; John Petrocelli, co-founder Bulldog Digital Media; and Caroline Burruss, VP of partnerships for Austin City Limits Live.
