Indonesian R&B duo sign with Mom+Pop Music

Mom+Pop Music today announced the signing of R&B duo Galdive. The Indonesian group released their first single from the partnership today, “Night Charade.”

Galdive is the musical project of an Indonesian duo: singer/songwriter, creator Tisha, and composer/producer Osvaldo. Known for their unique sounds, they swerve in and out of genres ranging from R&B to electronic, Jazz, and Pop. Tisha creates the artwork and design elements for Galdive, presenting them as a music and visual project.

In “Night Charade,” Tisha's expertly sultry voice glides over composer/producer Osvaldo’s unique instrumentation as she sings, “Do you wanna leave this masquerade? Baby, let’s just end this night charade, baby, let’s not leave this love to waste.” The laid-back, flowing, jazz-y melodies merge seamlessly throughout the song, giving it a mysterious yet familiar feel. Tisha created the accompanying visualizer for the song, which gives even more depth to the song with colorful and slow-moving imagery.

In “Night Charade,” we wanted to capture the feelings of temptation on a night out—those moments when unexpected things happen. Says Galdive, “It’s in those moments when chance lovers merge, knowing that the encounter is a fantasy fling. We aimed to capture that tension in an upbeat song containing a darker, mysterious, and lustful tone.”

Beneath the afrobeat groove, electric piano, and synths, Galdive incorporated traditional Indonesian instruments such as the suling sunda, talempong, and angklung. Suling Sunda can be compared to a type of flute; the Talempong is a small, bronze kettle gong that is a traditional instrument of the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra, Indonesia, and the Angklung is in the percussion family as the bamboo instrument is held in one hand as the other hand creates the sound from the instrument. Moving basslines, strings, piano, and guitar licks were also added for a personal touch.“

Night Charade” adds to Galdive’s impressive footprint as they have amassed over 65 million streams and 50K followers across platforms thus far. Their 2023 single “Stay” was featured on Spotify playlists, including “Lorem”, “Chill Vibes”, “Jasmine” and “Fresh Finds Class of 2023.” Galdive has also toured, including a multi-festival tour through China, where they played for huge audiences.

More new music will be released soon through Mom+Pop.
