Canadian DJ and producer Whipped Cream started producing and DJing ten years ago.
"It started getting serious the day I started," she says. "I knew immediately this was my passion and life's calling. I can’t imagine doing anything else. My sound is forever evolving and I can’t wait for everyone to hear all the new music I've been working on; it’s some of my best to date."
The artist describes her sound as her soul's work.
"Anything that sounds good, I’ve been honing in a lot on my own voice and writing skills for most of my recent work," she says. "It’s taken a bit to get used to but I've been loving the results and looking forward to being an even more well-rounded artist."
Her latest release is the is this real? EP.
"[It's] a project that helped me get through last year which was the hardest year of my life," she says. "This project as a whole is an open diary in sound; it features some of my favorite hip-hop acts on the come up such as Trent Madison and Showjoe. Stay tuned for a high-paced house song with a dark ethereal vibe coming very soon with Nostalgix also out on Monstercat."
As for gear: "I use KRK speakers when I'm producing music on Ableton alongside mostly ableton plug-ins. To mix - I use CDJ 3000s."
Looking ahead, Whipped Cream has plenty planned for the remainder of 2024.
"One of the biggest things I have planned this year is the ‘is this real?’ Fall Tour kicking off September 6th weekend," she says. "Expect more music to be dropped consecutively every few months to round out the year alongside a new alias drop. We have A LOT in the works these coming months and can’t wait for everyone to hear."
