Virtuoso house music and techno DJ/producer Sacha Robotti started DJing in 1995, and then honing his producing chops around 2001.
"I chose DJing/producing as my job, vocation, lifestyle in 2006 and have been doing this ever since," Robotti says.
He describes his sound simply as house, techno and electronic. That can all be heard on new release "Roll With Me."
"'Roll With Me,' my latest release with Pershard Owens on Dirtybird, is a fun track to get your ass shakin’, as witnessed by a 10k+ crowd at the Embarcadero in SF," he says. "It’s all about these Pershard Owens vocals on a groovy bassline, building in the breaks with rising soulfulness and culminating into a sirenous catharsis. Eeny meeny miny moe."
As for gear: "I tend to keep my setup rather minimal these days and produce on the road a lot," he says. "My current studio setup includes an Apple laptop with Ableton live, UAD interface, Beyerdynamic headphones, Dynaudio speakers and sub! I work with a team, collaborate and travel a lot so I record music in different spaces and studios."
Looking ahead, Robotti has plenty planned for the coming months.
"I’m hyped to play in San Diego on 11/27 at Spin, on the 12/4 at Discopussy in Las Vegas, and can’t wait to ring in the New Year at one of my favorite clubs on the West Coast, Halcyon San Francisco for New Years Eve," he says. "Also, I’m releasing a collab on Gorgon City’s label Realm, 'Take You Back' with Sian and Greta Levska, featuring vocals by David LeSal. We’ve had some great DJ support by Gorgon City, Solomun, Jamie Jones for it! Following this cut, our second collab 'Insanity' will drop in early 2025. Finally, I started working on my upcoming album! Stay tuned."
