Monterrey, Mexico born electronic artist Roderic began his journey when his older brother took him to a psytrance festival when he was thirteen.
"I got hooked," he said. "From that moment on, I started developing the blueprint for my first album, Perfect Mirror, which came out in 2016 on Katermukke."
Roderic says that it's extremely difficult to define his sound.
"The core of my sound falls into the category of electronic music, definitely, but beyond that I’ve been experimenting with different emotions and tempos throughout my career," he says. "What you’ll hear during my live sets and what I play on DJ nights have some fundamental points in common: groove, warmth, punch, but at the same time I'd like to think I am quite a versatile musician."
His latest release is the first single from the forthcoming In Mind album.
"The single is entitled 'Clouds' and marks an important transition into the sonic universe of this third album," he says. "It came out last week on my record label, Dafne Records. The album is the first LP to come out on the label so I’m very excited."
As for gear: "In the studio: Beyerdynamic headphones and Kh150 Neumann studio monitors, RME Babyface as interface, and SSL SiX as analog console. I produce on Ableton Live because I think it lends itself the best to electronic music. When I DJ, it’s a regular club-standard rig: three 3000s and a V10. But the most important piece of gear is what’s facing the audience, of course- d&b and L-acoustics are the leaders in my book. My headphones for shows are Sennheiser HD-25’s, true industry workhorses. Reliable, sturdy, true. They follow me everywhere I go."
Looking ahead, Roderic has plenty planned for 2025.
"My third album," he says. "The second single, 'Rafaga,' will be out on Friday, and the full album will be released on March 20th. I would love for you to have a listen. There will be a lot of European live dates this summer as well, l so stay tuned."
