Hit the Decks! It's Jacidorex

Brussels-based DJ and producer Jacidorex has been producing music since he was twelve, when he started playing piano.

"Then I discovered computer music at sixteen and I focused entirely on my passion from then," he says. "I was producing most of the time, at least five hours a day, until I finally managed at nineteen years to release a d&b track on a serious label. I was in a band as the producer at this time and we were often playing at parties, and I soon started to become completely obsessed with techno and acid but I couldn’t release it with our alias so I decided to make a new alias, Jacidorex. After one year producing this I started to be noticed on the scene and I had my first real gig in Antwerp. I learned how to use CDjs just a few days before my gig."

He describes his sound as "fierce, hypnotic and bouncy." Meanwhile, his latest release is the track "Beat My Chest," with Maëlie

"It is one of the hardest tracks I have released but I really love it because it’s a really good mix between raw hard techno and trance rolling bass style, with my musical signature, including heavy acid & floating beats," he says. "It was also really nice to work with Maëlie for her first musical experience. Can’t wait to hear the next ones!"

As for gear: "For Djing I mostly use CDjs 2 or 3000 and xone96, which is for me the best controller so far, as much for the 4th eq and perfect filter as for perfect way tracks overlap together in a crunchy way. For producing I use FL studio 22, with vsts like phoscyon, kick2, serum, sylenth1, analog lab 5, dune or gladiator, and fxs like glitch2, subvert, fl studio native reverb, delay, eq, compressors, etc.., OTT, Ohmicide, Subvert and many more. I produce with my AirPods Pro and I play with only one HD25."

Looking ahead, Jacidorex has got plenty planned for 2025.

"Many tracks and edits coming up as self releases, and many gigs all around the world, stay put!"
