Last Thursday, Oct. 3, GRAMMY Music Education Coalition teamed up with the Bacon Brothers (Kevin Bacon and Michael Bacon) to host local Nashville students at Franklin Theatre for the band’s soundcheck and a Q&A session where students were able to ask questions about the music industry, creating music, tips for a successful career in entertainment, and more.
GMEC brings arts to the forefront of education and has invested in Nashville schools through building state of the art studio spaces and developing music education courses. GMEC also works in Philadelphia and NYC markets with programs like DASH (Destined to Achieve Successful Heights) which implements culturally-relevant music industry classes and the All-Star Ambassador Program which brings artists like Bebe Rexha and Luis Fonsi as mentors into classrooms.
