The Grammy Museum has announced they will be paying tribute to the Ramones at SXSW: “Musical Milestones: 40 Years of the Ramones.”
There will be a panel on Thursday, March 17, at the Austin Convention Center Room 12AB at 2 p.m. Moderating the panel is Bob Santelli, who will lead discussions with David Fricke, Seymour Stein, Linda Ramone, Mickey Laiegh and John Doe.
In the evening at Maggie Mae’s Rooftop (ages 21+) at 8 p.m., the official showcase begins. Performing are The Quaker City Night Hawks, Lissie, Charlie Faye & The Fayettes, Death Valley Girls, Lost in Society feat. Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum, The Regrettes, The Heirs, Lily & Madeleine, Nina Diaz, Air Traffic Controller, The Wild Feathers, Lydia Loveless, blondfire, Brett Harris, GYMSHORTS, Magic!, Ray Rocket (Teenage Bottlerocket) and Dearly Beloved.
These SXSW events are being held in conjunction with the Los Angeles premiere of Hey! Ho! Let’s Go: Ramones and the Birth of Punk, opening Sept. 16 at the Grammy Museum.
