Glassnote Entertainment Group has announced the signing of Austrian singer/songwriter James Hersey. The newest addition to the Glassnote roster has signed a worldwide deal, and is poised to release his first studio-produced body of work with the label.
Of the signing, Hersey said, “They are the bridge between what we like and what we'll love. I couldn't be more proud to find my name on any other roster."
Hersey has recently collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Kygo, Dillon Francis, and filous on tracks like "Coming Over" and "How Hard I Try," which each have millions of streams on Spotify, Soundcloud and more.
“James Hersey is a multi-talented musician with an extremely dynamic artistic background,” remarked label founder and president Daniel Glass, “We couldn’t be more excited to have James join the Glassnote family.”
Born in Vienna, the artist’s interest in music and composition started early as he learned to play the cello, drums and electric guitar. He later studied jazz at a private conservatory where he discovered his talent for songwriting and producing. At the age of 17, Hersey independently released his first EP, James Hersey EP, which garnered its first radio plays in Austria. He then traveled across Europe and the U.S. writing songs and playing live to enrich his sound.
When he returned to Vienna in 2012, he produced and released his mixtape Twelve, his first foray into electronic production with lyrical and melodic sensibility rooted in a singer/songwriter background. He soon after was invited to join Milky Chance’s self-made label-family “Lichtdicht Records,” and in March 2015, Hersey supported Milky Chance on tour in the United States. Now signed to Glassnote, he is working on his first studio-produced EP.
