Freestyle Explosion returned to the YouTube Theater Saturday night (3/25). Freestyle explosion was headlined once again by Stevie B. and Lisa Lisa and also returning was TKA K7, The Jets, and Trinere. DJ Slice who was also the host had an hour long set after doors opened until the first performance came which was none other than MC Shy D. The show continued with Freestyle, Debbie Deb, The Cover Girls, The Jets, TKA K7, Rob Base, Trinere, Taylor Dayne, Lisa Lisa, and Stevie B. closed it out. The show lasted four hours and the sets ranged from 10-25 mins and it was quite a dance party. It was a night of old school Hip-Hop, 80’s R&B and Pop, and of course Freestyle. Family group the Jets were originally of eight siblings and for this performance it was just a 4-piece. Dayne was the first artist to perform with musicians (keys and drums), Lisa Lisa had a whole band with dancers and back-up singers, and Stevie B. also had a full band. The show was full of great hits like “Because I Love You (The Postman Song),” “I Wonder If I Take You Home,” “Tell It to My Heart,” “I’ll Be All You Ever Need,” “It Takes Two,” “Hi-De-Ho,” “Crush On You,” “Show Me,” “When I Hear Music,” “The Party Has Just Begun,” and “Shake It.”
