Bassist dUg Pinnick, born Douglas Theodore "Doug" Pinnick, will be hosting a free clinic on Thursday, May 25, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Sam Ash in Hollywood (7360 Sunset Blvd.).
dUg will play King’s X songs, discuss gear, have a meet and greet as well as a Q&A session with fans.
With the formation of King’s X in the ‘80s, dUg devised his own method of using guitar and bass amps together, along with a rack full of effects, to merge high-end distortion and low-end bass.
The dUg Pinnick Signature Ultra Bass 1000 is a 2-channel, all-analog bass amp head. Designed by Tech 21 in collaboration with dUg, it achieves his complex, unique sound in one single, 12-lb. box.
