Entertainment One (eOne) and HALO Entertainment Group (HALO) have announced that they have entered into a multiyear music co-publishing partnership. The deal was announced by Chris Taylor, President, eOne Music and Johnny Reid, President, HALO.
Under the terms of the deal, the two companies will co-publish writers signed to HALO.
“As we take our music publishing capabilities to the next level, it is very exciting to be doing so together with industry leaders like HALO,” said Taylor. “Publishing is an important area of growth for us and we are focused on bringing more and more standout writers into the eOne family.”
“We are thrilled to be working with Chris and the entire team at eOne. The global reach their company offers its artists and partners through film and television is a powerful engine through which to amplify our message and vision here at HALO,” said Reid.
The music of celebrated roots rocker and writer JJ Shiplett will launch the new publishing partnership. Shiplett spent the earlier part of the year as direct support for Reid on the 47 show, 35 cities What Love Is All About Tour. He gained momentum with the release of The E.P.—a testament to his range and depth as an artist, and a record that showcases the Alberta-born artist’s musical creativity and celebrates his lyricism. Warner Music Canada (WMC) is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Shiplett.
