D’Addario has partnered with Guitar Center, the world’s largest musical instrument retailer, for International Women’s Day. On March 8, buy any D’Addario product at Guitar Center or Guitarcenter.com and the D’Addario Foundation will donate 50% of every sale to support music education for girls. This partnership falls in line with D’Addario’s overarching mission to inspire performance in all musicians, and create positive social change both within and beyond the music community – especially for the next generation of players.
Proceeds from this day will go directly to the Music Education for Girls Initiative, a special fund established within the D’Addario Foundation that provides girls with advanced learning opportunities, scholarships, and transformative musical experiences that foster both personal and professional growth. This support not only serves to motivate girls to continue participating in existing programs, but to nurture them along their educational journey.
Guitar Center believes that every person regardless of socioeconomic status or gender should have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument. With this in mind, the retailer is has partnered with D’Addario on International Women’s Day in support of an important effort to foster a more diverse and empowering environment for musicians nationwide.
Suzanne D'Addario Brouder, Executive Director of the D’Addario Foundation says, “Music is a universally powerful tool for self-expression. The D’Addario Foundation hopes to encourage and nurture more female musicians. It is our goal to help promote more music created by women, and foster new opportunities that enable more young women to thrive in the music business.”
Suzanne D'Addario Brouder adds, “We believe the support we’re able to provide young female musicians from this unique partnership with Guitar Center on International Women’s Day has the power to advance gender equality both inside and outside our industry.”
