NASCAR’s most famous race will receive extra star power this weekend when country music star Justin Moore makes a special appearance in Daytona to launch Crown Royal’s annual “Your Hero’s Name Here” program, which will award naming rights to this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to a deserving hero.

Moore will perform a special 45 minute concert at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 24 at the Crown Royal footprint (in the Fan Zone outside of Turn 4), during which he’ll cast the inaugural “Your Hero’s Name Here” nominations, identifying two local heroes who are making a difference in their communities and will have a chance to win naming rights to the July race. Moore, who recently announced his first headlining tour, OUTLAWS LIKE ME, will also perform hits including “Small Town USA” and “Til My Last Day”.

Moore and the whisky brand are encouraging adult consumers to nominate their own personal heroes (21 or older) – from firefighters and police officers, to first responders and veterans – for naming rights to the race, officially titled the Crown Royal Presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard. Fans can visit CrownRoyalHeroes.com through April 14 to submit their nominations.

The race, to be held on July 28, 2013, is the culminating event of the Crown Royal Heroes ProjectTM, an ongoing commitment to recognize everyday heroes and give back to their communities. This year’s race will mark the seventh time Crown Royal has awarded naming rights of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race to an adult fan and the second year in a row that the Brickyard 400 has been renamed in honor of a hero.

Nominations will be accepted through April 14, and the five finalists will be announced shortly after. Once the finalists are announced, fans will be provided the chance to cast a vote to determine the winner. The winner will be revealed in a special ceremony leading up to the race.

The grand-prize winner will receive a trip to Indianapolis, where he or she will receive the royal treatment throughout race weekend before delivering the trophy bearing his or her name to the race winner in Victory Lane.

When raising a glass to your hero, Crown Royal reminds you to please drink responsibly.
