The CRB Board of Directors is proud to announce the Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship program, which will debut at CRS 2022.
In honor of the late Lisa McKay, who successfully programmed WQDR/Raleigh for 16 years and was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2018, the Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship program will award three aspiring female radio programmers the opportunity to attend their first-ever CRS. Each scholarship package will include complimentary registration, hotel, and airfare for CRS 2022, held February 23-25, 2022. Scholars will be recognized at CRS 2022 during CRS Honors, which is the kick-off to the 3-day event.
McKay was integral in helping the CRB launch the well-established annual Rusty Walker Scholarship program, formed to mentor up-and-coming programmers. Recognizing McKay as a fierce advocate for young female radio professionals, the CRB Board, at the suggestion of Broken Bow VP/Promotion Lee Adams, has established this new scholarship program. The scholarship serves to advance younger females pursuing leadership roles in radio programming. Recipients will access the educational, networking, and mentoring opportunities CRS provides, with entry to see the most established, respected names in our format.
Each applicant must fill out an online application and submit, in 500 words or less, why she should be considered.
