Cort Guitars releases its G300 Pro, the new flagship model of the G Series. The G300 Pro offers superb playability, sonic versatility and an aesthetic design. Players who enjoy soloing in the higher fret positions will gravitate toward the modern features of this boutique-style guitar, including its 24 full frets—a first-ever feature for the G Series. The G300 Pro is available in two finishes: Vivid Burgundy (VVB) and Black (BK).
The design of the G300 Pro begins with high-quality tonewoods that enables the guitar to cut through the mix with a tone that’s optimized for lead solo playing. The American Basswood body provides a balanced and rich midrange tone, while the 6 mm (¼-inch) maple top offers a bright sparkle. It’s a proven wood combination that’s smartly paired with the Seymour Duncan TB4 bridge humbucker and SH2N neck humbucker. This dynamic duo offers a custom-wired 5-way switch that provides glassy and sparkling single-coil sounds in the second and fourth positions, as well as full-bodied and powerful humbucker sounds in the bridge, middle, and neck positions. While the versatility of these controls is abundant, the layout is simple to allow players to focus on making music.
The G300 Pro’s compound radius fingerboard, ranging from 12 inches to 16 inches, allows for better transitions from easy chording on the low register to high-speed soloing and enhanced string-bending on the upper register. Cort’s newly designed Ergo-V neck profile and shape provides more comfort at any position across the entire neck, while jumbo stainless steel frets resist corrosion and offer a quick response and good articulation on both chords and single notes. To further support tone, Cort has roasted the G300 Pro’s maple neck and fingerboard in an oxygen-free oven at a high temperature. The process results in enhanced stability for a big, bold tone, and a vintage golden-brown look. Luminlay side dot position markers make it easy for players to navigate the 24 full frets, even when performing on dark stages.
The Cort CFA-III Tremolo features stainless steel saddles, a solid machined steel block, and a steel baseplate for improved sustain, faster and punchier pick attack, and a more coherent and balanced fundamental tone. The recessed tremolo bridge allows for pull-ups to raise and lower the pitch as needed. Less noticeable, but critical for playability, the spoke nut Hotrod truss rod enables players to dial in the exact amount of neck bow depending on their technique and playing style. For finishing touches, Cort uses a Graph Tech black TUSQ, an advanced polymer formed under high-heat and pressure for uniform density. It’s a small detail with huge impact, and helps to transfer string energy more efficiently, so the guitar comes alive with enhanced harmonics, volume, and sustain. Cort’s staggered locking tuners provide excellent tuning stability as well as ease of tuning and string changes.
From over-the-top metal and shred to jazzy warmth and sparkling cleans, the G300 Pro’s sounds provide clarity and depth.
