The City of Inglewood is proud to announce its partnership with the multi-Grammy Award-winning collective 1500 Or Nothin'for their annual 1500 Day celebration, this year doubling as a Benefit Concert to aid families displaced by the devastating Palisades and Eaton wildfires. The event will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at WePlay Studios, a state-of-the-art production facility located in the heart of Inglewood.
1500 Day, known for celebrating the rich legacy of the 1500 Or Nothin’ collective, will feature live performances by some of the biggest names in the music industry. This year’s event takes on a deeper purpose, uniting the community and industry leaders to extend a helping hand to families in need.
Mayor James T. Butts shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “These devastating wildfires have destroyed 12,000 structures, resulted in the deaths of at least 24 people so far and so our goal is to help the people that have been displaced, find some path to normalcy as they rebuild their lives. Due to Inglewood becoming a more popular City, we have a number of short term rental units that have sprung up. So, we want to put together funds to assist families with transitional housing.”
Proceeds from the concert will go to Inglewood Rising, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing short-term housing and resources to those displaced by the wildfires.
