People Like Us is a collection of internationally celebrated musicians from many musical genres, all with the collective goal of celebrating the artistry and beauty of Ireland's native music. The group was first introduced to one another while touring with the first national tour of the smash Broadway hit "Come From Away (NY Times Critic's Pick). During their time with the show, People Like Us often played double duty throughout their eight show weeks, performing in pubs and recording studios throughout North American after the curtain drew for the show's evening and matinee performances.
People Like Us features mandolin player Martin Howley (We Banjo 3, 7 Time "All Ireland" Champion), fiddler Kiana June (Carlos Núñez, Gaelic Storm), Irish flute player and uilleann piper Isaac Alderson (3 Time All Ireland Champion, Eileen Ivers, The Yanks, Ensemble Galilei) and bodhrán player Steve Holloway (Riverdance, Solas, Seamus Egan). Rounding out the rhythm section with LA Drummer Ben Morrow, bassist Sean Rubin (Touring member of Bronze Radio Return) and guitarist BIlly Bivona (World Soul) results in a huge sound that is both traditionally leaning yet progressive in scope.
